Our Hunter Valley Whites

When young,  Hunter Valley Semillon displays vibrant notes of lemon and lime and is a great aperitif and terrific when matched with seafood. As it matures it develops  lemon curd and toast  characters for which it is world famous.

Our Verdelho is one of the most fruit-driven Verdelho’s in the Valley, and it has aromas of pineapple, passionfruit and rockmelon with a soft and fruit driven palate.Terrific with spicy food and  matches any white meat dish. Try it with tuna steaks or mongolian lamb for an unexpected match

Chardonnay is such a versatile variety and we make two wines that differ in style. The Classic Chardonnay is partially barrel fermented and has aromas of peach and rockmelon underpinned with  coconut and vanillin oak due to our use of American, French and Hungarian oak barrels. The palate is soft and flavoursome with a sherbet-like acid finish. This wine is a nod to the traditional opulent Hunter style, but with a little more subtlety.

The Primera Chardonnay is more of a  “high toned” wine with complex  French oak barrel -ferment aromas and beautiful peach and citrus fruit characters. The palate is elegant but full-flavoured and has a long fruit/acid finish. A perfect accompaniment with soup, cheesy pasta or chicken dishes.

The Verdelho Semillon is a blend of the Hunter Valley’s favourite varieties. The bouquet has the fruity punch of Verdelho while the soft palate is tempered by the citrus flavours of the Semillon. A lovely wine that can be enjoyed by itself or accompany seafood,pasta and white meat dishes.
