This wine shows the elegant synergy of two of the Hunter Valley’s most popular white varieties, being Verdelho and Semillon, and made from premium fruit grown on our estate. The Verdelho delivers custard apple and tropical fruit salad aromas and flavours while the Semillon gives the wine a backbone of citrus and sherbet-like characters.
A blend with the best of both worlds. The exuberant fruit-driven florals of Verdelho ( the old block Verdelho) combined with the citrus punch of Semillon makes for an interesting wine with fruit salad and passionfruit aromas and a tangy fruit- driven palate with a sherbet-like finish. Fermented with a yeast known as QA 23 which keeps releasing fruit characters from the wine after fermentation (due to enzymes released from the yeast), this wine is 70 % Verdelho and 30% Semillon.
A wine best consumed slightly chilled, it can be served with foods as diverse a sushi, light pasta dishes, tuna steaks or enjoyed by itself. Enjoy this wine in moderation.
