A wine made from a blend of Mudgee and Hunter Valley fruit. This deeply coloured red wine has beautifully lifted aromas of the varietal Cabernet redcurrant /blackcurrant spectrum, with underlying blackberry and spice from the Shiraz component. The well- structured palate shows a delicious combination of ripe fruit, well-handled-oak and balanced tannin that has a long and flavourful finish.
What we love about this wine is the inherent and intense fruit that shines through in this blend. The wine is a deep Indian-ink red in colour, and has bountiful aromas of cherry, blackcurrant, cranberry and oak playing a supporting role. This allows the fruit to come to the fore and it does this on the palate as well. Blackberry, cherry and redcurrant jube characters are plentiful and again oak characters are there to frame these flavours rather than be a dominant flavour. A top-up please, waiter!
The tannins are soft and drying and help lengthen the palate and it will go well with lamb or beef dishes or simply enjoyed with some good cheese.
