A rich beetroot-red in colour, this wine shows beautiful redcurrant/blackcurrant and jube-like aromas with restrained vanillin oak lift that lets the fruit shine through. The rich and full palate has a lovely amalgam of red fruits and oak flavours and a soft drying tannin finish.
Our winemaker’s favourite blend, this wine comes from the Mudgee and Hilltops regions. The powerful Cabernet comes from Mudgee, all upfront cassis and cranberry while the Merlot is sourced from the Hilltops region showing cherry kirsch like characters and a supple palate.
The final blend is beet red in colour, with aromas of redcurrant, cherry and cranberry and reserved mocha/chocolate like oak notes. The palate is rich and flavoursome with jube-like red berry and savoury cherry flavours and a smooth oak and tannin finish.
The wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for 3-5 years to build more complexity. It will complement most beef and lamb dishes or a good hard cheese.
Great with lamb stews or beef dishes such as Osso Bucco or enjoyed after dinner with cheese.
